Gibbs eats his wings (video)

Dear Darcie, I recently came across someone using your phrase about raw food and claiming it as their own. You know that one, “If Nature intended for dogs to eat cooked foods, they’d have pockets for their matches.” I know that you coined that phrase almost 14 years ago when I first started doing business with SitStay. SitStay.com was the first pet supply online and I remember thinking what a great idea. Wish I’d thought of it. Want to set the record straight for your Readers? By the way, my wife and I love you. Thought you could use some of that and a virtual hug these days. – Roger

Dear Roger,

Yes, I coined that phrase a long time ago. SitStay.com was the first acting pet supply online in the history of the Internet, at least we’ve never been able to find anyone doing it before we were. I remember when I first used that phrase. I was talking to a customer on the phone and she said, “But all dog foods are cooked, the vet says they have to eat cooked foods.” My reply?

“If Nature intended for dogs to eat cooked foods, they’d have pockets for their matches.” She came back with, “Well, of course. Of course you’re right!”

Here’s the video of Gibbs eating his chicken wings. Sorry about the back up noises, beep, beep, beep, they were rebuilding our parking lot.

You’re right, I can use all the love I can get. I really do love my life, please don’t worry about me. Gibbs and I are having a ball together and I love all of my customers and friends and all of the dogs.

Shop at SitStay.com or the local store SitStay at SouthPointe, Lincoln, Nebraska more often! Things have changed in my life and I could use more money. Gibbs and I are eating fine and we get hugs daily from you guys and from our local customers. We need it and we love it. LOL!

Here’s the video I promised. I still can’t figure out how to get photos off of my phone, I’ll be visiting the phone company on Monday….they’ll be able to help me.

Gibbs. He’s such a dream dog. I love this little guy. Maybe we should have a great big going away party for him when the time comes? And maybe we can raise some money for the service dog org and the rescues at the same time. What do you think? You like it, I’ll set it up. I probably have to give him up late next spring or early summer. I am not looking forward to it.

I love you and your wife, too, Roger. You’ve been wonderful friends to me. Thanks for the hugs. – Darcie

I think that ‘s a great idea – and it could also be a “virtual” party so all of us from far away could join too. Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours, and keep doing what you’re doing. There are a lot of dogs that are very thankful for you, too :)

Well Darcie Thanks giving day has come and gone and again this year I made my annual donation to the Forsyth Humane Society where we adopted our first dog in 1991. I try every year to take food to them for the less fortunate. The donation is in memory of her (Lady). Left a letter from us to them signed with only first names as the Kernersville Pack. They of course wanted to know if I wanted a reciept. No reciept it is a gift from the heart, no reciept necessary. Kind of felt like the Lone Ranger as I drove off after wishing everyone there a Happy Thanksgiving. Had on wide sunglasses with side shades and drove my white pontiac. Who Was That Masked Man?

  4. Darcie… Happy Small Business Saturday!
I ‘second’ Jen’s idea- “….. and it could also be a “virtual” party so all of us from far away could join too.”

So, if you’ll organize the party, all of us in your huge FanClub could attend virtually.
And I’m betting we could also be “sweet-talked/sweet-barked/sweet-licked” into donating a few dollars in the name of Gibbs and All Things Great and Beautiful.

    Warm Supportive Party Socks,

Hey Darcie! I think the idea of having a fund-raiser for the Service Dog organization & for the rescues is a great idea. To save a few lives & get more service dogs into the hands that need them. We love our service dogs, Mattie Ross & Maggie Mae.

Hugs! Michael, Brenda & all the 4 legged people, large & small

  6. Jen says:

May I ask what collar Gibbs is wearing? Thanks :) – Jen

Dear Jen, It’s a Premier Martingale collar. It’s soft and easy for training. I love it. This is not the Eco but we carry those, too. – Darcie
