Cesar getting divorced

(Dear Readers, I’ve had lots of questions about Cesar and his wife in the past month or so. Cesar announced his divorce in June. I’ll answer this one time. Most of the email that came was just like this one. – Darcie)

Dear Darcie, is it true that Cesar Millan is getting divorced? He made such a big deal about changing his ways and learning to be so good to his wife. I wonder what went wrong. Maybe he used a shock collar or a “shish” on her one too many times. Manny

Dear Manny, Yes, it’s true about the divorce and I know you’re kidding about the shock collar. Who knows what happened. Life happens. Been there, done that, just like half the people in the US. I don’t have anything to say about the divorce. I’d like to keep the conversation here geared toward the dogs. Sorry, Cesar. I know that this can’t be easy for you or Illusion and the kids.

On another note, Cesar was in Nebraska this week. Not working with dogs but looking for dog treats.

Cesar has a gift for dealing with dogs, because he tunes into them. Maybe, such a gift is a hindrance when it comes to dealing with people. But, it doesn’t matter. He has done much for so many people by teaching them how to live with their dogs by being fair and understanding. The dogs are the winners and that is what counts!

I’m glad you “took the high road” answering that last comment about Cesar. More power to you; I’m not sure I would have been so gracious! ((: Life does happen and divorce is not fun for anyone.

Glad to see that you chose to use some discretion. However; maybe just replying to “Manny” privately might have been a bit more appropriate. If Mr. Milan announced his divorce, it is between he and his wife. Nobody else’s business.
I am not “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm”–far from it, in fact–but this trend in our society to see people fail, and make it hugely public is nauseating. How would Manny feel if it were his divorce? Susan

Dear Susan, None of us are without fault of some sort and we all know it. Thank goodness that we do. I try not to ignore my Readers. Answering one letter publicly was my choice so we can leave it behind. They wanted me to say something, I don’t think it was out of line for my readers to want to hear from me. We’ve been talking about Cesar for years. They did know that I’d take the high road. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. – Darcie

I’m hoping the comment about us wanting to see stars to fall is the minority. My only reason for wondering about them was hoping they could make it work after some time apart. I’ve appreciated all the enjoyment I’ve received from the show. The boys are just ADORABLE!! I remember the family in my prayers, and I think they’re all destined for great things in the future. Darcie, the world is too nosey, peoples dirty laundry should not be public knowledge.
