Yuba City, CA

We’re staying at my Aunt and Uncle’s house in Yuba City for a few days. Today I washed the poor old truck. And talked to lots of people at the car wash. They had dogs with them. What fun for me. We shared stories of current dogs, loved dogs, and dogs long gone. It was good.

Day before yesterday we were walking the shores of San Francisco Bay, we walked the Golden Gate Bridge and all 54 piers. Of course handing out SitStay cards to any one who wanted one. One woman holding a little dog said, “What is that?” “It’s a business card for SitStay”, I said. “I don’t live here”, she said. I replied, “Oh, I don’t either but you can have the card if you like.” Her face turned purple and she held her little dog too tight and screamed at me. “I don’t want it!!!” Everyone who had been petting her dog took a step back, including me. Whew. I didn’t know what to say. We moved on.

We didn’t tent that night, we were just too tired to find a camping spot. The first motel we stopped at was icky, dirty, icky. We didn’t check in and found a nice motel near by. We both slept till 11:00 the next morning. Good grief, I haven’t slept that late since I was a teenager! It was great.

The bad part of traveling? Public bathrooms. OMG, Ladies, please don’t pee all over the stool.

The best part of traveling? The scenery, the time spent talking, the companionship, and of course, the dogs.

We’ll stay here two more nights then head north again. Having a wonderful time. Wish you were here!

I have to agree with you on the public facilities… these days I’m starting to think women are worse than men in that respect. Why do they think it’s ok to leave it like that, just because *they* don’t sit on the seat? I remember a little rhyme, don’t remember where I came across it: “If you sprinkle when you tinkle, Please be neat and wipe the seat!!”
