(See final test results and review with video here: Shoo!Tag)
May 1: Shoo!Tag testing isn’t looking positive so far. It’s been over 48 hours.
Oliver and I have worn the tags the whole time since the start of the test on April 29 and we are caring for them as per the maker’s instructions. The tags are supposed to be waterproof so that’s not a problem, Oliver does go swimming daily. All Tags are in good shape, no bending, no scratches, no tears or breaks.
I was gone to a poetry meet tonight (that was so much fun!). Kent just emailed me that he pulled 9 ticks off of Oliver. It’s been more than 48 hours since the start of the test. I asked Kent to make sure that we have video of the ticks as he pulls them off, I really want to share the proof of the pests with all of you. He’ll try to remember, it’s hard to remember when your dog has ticks to go get the camera. I understand absolutely. Oliver is taking it all in stride and doesn’t seem to mind wearing the Shoo!Tags. He hasn’t changed his normal sweet self at all, still the honey he’s always been.
It’s too cold for mosquitoes again tonight so that test is still up in the air. There were mosquitoes out on the first night of the test but I hadn’t worn the Tags long enough to get an accurate test yet then. It will warm up here soon and we’ll see what happens with that.
By the way, Kent isn’t going to wear the Chiggers Tag. After what he’s seen in the past few days with ticks on Oliver and me, he’d really rather not take the chance of having to heal up for several weeks from chigger bites for a barefoot walk in the grass. I’d say his mind is made up after having pulled 9 ticks off of Oliver tonight.
The maker claims:
“The key to shoo!TAG™ is the three dimensional electromagnetic frequency embedded in the magnetic strip. shoo!TAG combines with the body’s electrical field to produce an expanding barrier effect, keeping targeted pests away.”
“shoo!TAG™ represents a paradigm shift in the pest management industry. shoo!TAG™ utilizes Nature’s energetic principles in combination with physics, quantum physics and advanced computer software technology. The key to shoo!TAG™ is the three dimensional electromagnetic field embedded in the magnetic strip.
shoo!TAG™ when used as instructed, utilizes the power of the bio-energetic field which surrounds all living things to create a frequency barrier for up to four months.
shoo!TAG™’s magnetic strip is encoded with beneficial frequencies and resonances and an electromagnetic charge bearing a polarized energy signature, which when introduced into the bio-energetic field of the wearer produces results.
shoo!TAG™ is calibrated to specific animals and specific insects to repel targeted pests. This is possible because various insects and pests react to frequencies. These frequencies are introduced into the bio-energetic field of the wearer. These specific frequencies and resonances have proven to disturb targeted pests and create a barrier.
(FAQ at Shoo!tag) Question: Can I use shoo!TAG™ on any animal or pet? Do they have to be worn every day? Answer: We have animal, pet and people products available. They are pest specific (for example, tick tags won’t keep away fleas) as well as species specific (for example, dog tags would not work for cats). Each tag is for all weights and sizes and is safe for pregnant or lactating animals. The tags will start working in a few days but may take longer depending on the health of the individual. Pet and animal tags must be worn at all times to maintain effectiveness.”
Oliver and I are both in peak condition, no illness or injuries at all. We’re both positive and happy spirits. We’re caring for the tags and wearing them exactly as instructed. We’re doing everything we can to make this test a positive one.
I’m still willing to continue with this testing for a while. I might wait a few more days to take my bare walk in the deep grass with the ticks, though. The maker says that it takes 24 to 36 hours to reach full potency and the Tag is supposed to last for a full four months so logically that should mean that if I wait for another two or three days and we’re into the wearing of the tags by about a week, the Tag should be at it’s full and best potency. I sure like the sound of that better than having ticks crawl on me because I tested it too soon, before it’s reached it’s full strength.
So far, neither Oliver or I have the barrier effect working. The ticks are walking right through to us as they always have. – Darcie
Just be careful, as Anaglyph stated earlier. There’s a reason why Melissa Rogers hasn’t posted on the ShooTag web site any real scientific explanation as to how the tags work: it’s because they don’t, as your testing demonstrates. I look forward to the remainder of your review. Best of luck to you.
Dear Atlas, I’m being careful. I don’t believe I have to let a tick attach to have a failed test, if they’re on me, they got through the barrier that the makers claim will exist if I wear it long enough. Oliver is still getting ticks so, so far that barrier doesn’t seem to exist for either of us and the conclusion of whether it works or not is so far leaning toward your conclusions. We do have Lyme disease in our area, I don’t have to get sick to prove anything. I still have hope that it will work…that’s the idealist in me….because then I could sell it in the SitStay.com store and lots and lots of dogs, cats, and horses can go without chemicals. The practical thinking side of me keeps me skeptical that this is real. Somebody had to finally test this thing. I’m happy to do it. Thank you for your concern, I really appreciate it. – Darcie
FYI: You can get Lyme from the body fluids of your dog….saliva, blood, urine, etc. Your dog may not display symptoms but may carry borrelia bergdopheri (sp) (Lyme). The usual tests offered by the AMA (Elisa, Western Blot) and your local vet (Elisa, etc.) are highly unreliable evidence. The only reliable lab is Igenex Labs in Calif. and not only Lyme but the very common coinfections Ehrliccia, Bartonella, and Babesia must also be tested as the same vector bite carries these and more. Additionally, any biting/sucking vector is a carrier, i.e., mosquitos, biting flies, etc., etc. Our entire family has been affected and we are very concerned for the veritable epidemic/pandemic at hand.
