I had a wonderful day today, all day long. I think I saw an angel. And Oliver licked my cheek.

We realized right away that we wanted him to stay and not only that, he needed to be in management. Very smart and even tempered, I really like that about people. He’s married to Desi, a wonderful good hearted woman whose life career is to care for her family and other people who need her help, and he’s the Dad of three daughters who are just as beautiful and busy as their mother. SitStay is blessed with employees who love their families as much as they love their dogs. I don’t know if life gets any better than working with people who you respect and enjoy. My favorite choice of Toys for the SitStay Dogs this Christmas? Orbee Balls! They all love them. Tilli and Frankie care for their balls, they don’t bite or chew, they know their balls are for throwing, fetching, and carrying. Orbees are really tough and can take lots and lots of daily play without being any the worse for wear. Tilli still has the first Orbee she ever played with, it’s old and still fun.

Oliver, on the other hand, we have to watch that guy. He’s a power house chewer. And he’s so gentle about it. He’ll carefully take a toy from your hand, go lay down with it, and proceed to take it apart, piece by piece as gently as he took it from you. This guy is so sweet and he has a surprisingly soft mouth. He carried a grasshopper around without hurting it at all. He just wanted to play with it. He’d put it down and nose it so it would jump, he followed it around until Frankie came over, then he scooped it back up in his mouth to protect it…just like a Disney movie or something. He’s great with the Orbee and all toys until we forget that he has one and leave him alone with it. “Awww Gees, Oliver”, it’s what everybody says when they come back into the room. “You did a number on that one, didn’t you, Boy?” Well, we can’t make him quit chewing on stuff, he’s the SitStay.com toughness tester of all things. He doesn’t eat what he takes apart. He takes a bite, puts it down, takes another bite, puts it down…you get it. Mr. Destructo. Soon we’ll have a special category in the menu at SitStay.com, all it’s own for dogs who are like him, chewers of all things. It will be called something like “Oliver’s Tough Picks”.
