Darcie and Kent, I just read about Dancer and I am so sorry. What a wonderful dog she was- a wonderful dog who deserved the wonderful life she had with you.

Your story reminded me of the dogs (and cats) I have loved, and those last memories I have with them. It also made me think of the grey-muzzled “old man” who lives with me now… I dread that day- how can you ever be ready for it?

Puppies are wonderful things, with all of their energy and happiness, but there is something very special about an older dog. My heart hurts for you and your tremendous loss.

My deepest condolences on your loss of Dancer. She sounds like quite the lady. I have a 13 1/2 year old terv girl named Cameo. She sounds a lot like your Dancer. I cherish each and every day I have with her. Hearing about Dancer's passing left me in tears. I think part of that is because I know I will be facing that same loss very soon with Cameo. Remember the good times. It sure sounds like she gave you a lot of them. She died as she lived - in dignity and on her terms. Bless you both.

My Baby dog left me August 31, 2001. It's like yesterday. So I say, God Bless and Keep You and Yours in the Palms of His Hands. Their memory is nearly as great as their life.

I carry her in my heart every day and I will see her again as you will your beautiful Dancer.

Dear Darcie and Kent,
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved Dancer. Although it would be my greatest wish come true never to lose my sweet "Fleetie", I would wish alternatively for her to experience such a natural, peaceful passing. That you received a "dream of comfort" is also a priceless gift. You are in my prayers, and as always "thank you" for providing such a wonderful, trustworthy place to shop. I appreciate your personal touch and the talented writings.

I absolutely love the newsletter and I so enjoy reading all of your stories and comments. I was brought to tears by the story about Dancer. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know from my own precious babies, Presley and Lola, it would be like losing one of your children.
Please keep all of the stories and tips coming. I find them so helpful. I know so many others do as well.

My heart goes out to you both and to the other remaining sitstay dogs. We lost our Golden, Zuko, on New Year's Eve. Like Dancer, he went doing what he loved. He had just come in from playing ball, curled up on the couch and just took his last breath. There is much comfort in knowing that moments before he was happy playing ball and that he didn't suffer. He hadn't been ill and we didn't have to put him down.

Thankfully our then-2 year old Black Lab, Duncan, was there and I think understood that Zuko was gone and he has adjusted quite well. Now we just need to socialize him a bit more as he's a bit skittish around other dogs and humans.

Many hugs and kisses to you and yours!

To Dancer's Family,
What a blessing she came into your life and you hers. She was a gift to all and her passing is a loss for everyone.
If I could make one wish it would be that all four legged people could pass as beautifully and surrounded by love as Dancer did.
Blessing,
Carol Putnam

Dear Kent, Darci and family,
I'm sorry to hear about Dancer. She must have been a wonderful dog. It is simply amazing to experience a dog's unconditional love and return it totally. She was lucky to have lived with humans who loved and cared for her as you did.

I have two female Australian Shepherds. One is 5 and the other is 14 1/2 years old. I dread the day when KC tells me it's her time to go.

We wish you all well and happier days to come!

Please know that your beautiful Dancer is in heaven right now, waiting for you. Dogs are so fantastic. They really ground us and give us perspective. I only wish I was the person my dog thinks I am.
