Old dog and a water bowl

I’ll write more about the older dogs and Frankie later but had to tell you about this before I go to bed tonight.

Dancer, my oldest girl who will be 14 in August, walked to the water bowl down the hall. Frankie trotted quickly along behind her and I waited to see what would happen.

Would Frankie go under Dance to get her drink first? Would she push her way in front? Would she bark or try to play? What would Dancer do if she did?

Frankie stopped three feet from the water bowl and went into a perfect down facing the water bowl. She waited. Dancer quietly got her drink and turned around to see a puppy watching her like she was the Queen of England passing by. Dancer sniffed the very top of Frankie’s head then came back down the hall.

Frankie got up and got her drink and trotted back to me.  It was all very quiet and very perfect. We are pleased.

Delightful manners at such a young age. Of course, Dancer has been working on her manners since she got here. I’ll tell you all about it later. I’m going to bed. It’s been a day full of puppy training.
